This is one of the finest condition, all original first year production Model 1892 rifles we have encountered. Features full octagon barrel, full magazine, sporting front and rear sights, blued finish, case colored hammer and lever, walnut stocks and rifle butt. This rifle remains in amazing original condition. Barrel and tube retain approximately 90% original blue, albeit blending with some soft patina coming through. 90% brilliant bright blue on both sides of the frame. 75% blue at base and top of frame. 90% blue on bolt. 75% blue on loading gate. Generous amounts of case colors on hammer and lever. Fine stock is proud to metal with no cracks or chips. Fine action. Strong, clean rifled bore. In the popular .38-40 caliber, an extremely fine, early first year big bore '92. Factory research verifies .38 caliber, octagon barrel standard rifle shipped December 5th, 1893.
