Manufactured in 1954. Round blued superposed barrels with wide vented matte rib with twin white beads. Boxlock actions with French grey finish and detailed Midas grade engraving, including chiseled relief scrolls and scene of five pheasants in a hollow on the left side, the other side with four relief ducks, some in water, some in flight. The bottom features two grouse in flight, surrounded by scrolls. Right side of action signed by engraver "FUNKEN" near bottom. Felix Funken was an early Browning factory master engraver and shotguns engraved by him often command a premium. Triggerguard bow with relief engraved scene of two rabbits. Features include single gold plated trigger, long tang, ejectors, and non-automatic thumb safeties/barrel selector. Highly figured varnished walnut stocks with round knob and maker's black buttpad. Checkered panels around wrist and on beavertail forearm. Excellent condition, as refinished. Barrels retain about 98% plus reblued finish. Excellent shiny bores. Action retains nearly all of re-applied finish. Stock very good with a few light storage marks. This is an excellent high grade Belgian Browning that would make a great shooter!
