Manufactured 1894. This is an unusual rifle in that it is a first year but it does not have the ten o'clock screw. No PW's. Features full octagon barrel, full magazine, Winchester sporting sights, blued finish and walnut stocks. If ever there was a case to be made for refinishing a rifle, this is it. It appears to have been stored in a non-climate controlled environment, where it retains most of its original blue finish but it has spotted finish loss. The edges and markings are razor sharp. Frame has age freckling. Nice flashes of color on hammer and lever. Wood is excellent and proud to metal with nice grain. Strong bore and fine action. Rare very early rifle that did not see much use, but was just improperly stored and would be worth the money and effort to bring it back to life. The lovely stocks even have extra grain wood.
