It is obvious by the condition that this rifle saw very little, if any, use. Breech block and tang retain the majority of their case colors. 85% original blue on hammer, latch, sideplate. 80% original blue on trigger guard. Lower tang thinning. 90% bright blue on both bands and forend tip. 95% blue on barrel. Features 1884 rear sight. Ramrod swivels on front band and trigger guard. Even buttplate has 60% original blue. The full length walnut stock is excellent to near mint, with a few minor bumps and an excellent "S.W.P." Sam Porter 1889 cartouche. Action is like new. Strong, near mint bore. Bands and buttplate have "U.S." stamp. Even the ramrod has most of its original blue. Barrel shows muzzle wear and some storage scratches on left side forward of tip. Accompanied by a blued "U.S." marked bayonet and metal scabbard in excellent to near mint condition as well. A very nice example.
