Manufactured 1880. This old Colt has matching numbers on frame, backstrap and trigger guard. No visible number on cylinder or under barrel. Barrel address is partially visible. Has the three line frame patent dates. "44 CF" on left trigger bow. Sports one piece walnut grips that are shy and have numerous dents. The gun was refinished at one time, as evidenced by the slightly dished screw holes and slight separation at trigger guard and frame. Now has a dark chocolate brown patina with an overall antiqued texture. Indexes and locks up. Strong rifling with some abrasion. Has a great early antiqued cowboy look.
