Matching serial number stamped inside frame, inside grips. Links are unnumbered. These were manufactured and stamped on top of frame in two lines "NEW HAVEN CONN. / PATENT FEB 14 1854". the New Haven Arms Co. was form on May 1st, 1857 to 1860 with estimated quantity manufactured 150 of the 3 - 1/2" No. 1 pocket pistol. Breech block bears the number 707, none of the other parts assembled at New Haven have numbers. This model is unusual in that it bears no engraving of any kind. Has the saw handle varnished walnut grips with matching number stamped inside. Case colored hammer has turned grey. Barrel and tube are a smooth grey-blue patina. Brass frame and sideplates have never been cleaned. Strong, rifled near mint bore. Grips fit nicely and have the majority of their original factory varnish intact. The spring that holds lever tight to gun, or lack of, allows the trigger guard to droop. Screw head slots are slightly marred. A nice, clean example that is rather scarce with the unadorned frame.
