Two stage rifled barrel marked "J. Roop" in script on top flat. Flat unmarked flintlock lockplate. Engraved brass furniture includes trigger guard with daisy on bow, butt cap with daisy and sideplate engraved with shell and detailed borders. Figured maple stock inlaid with brass wire around lock and sideplate as well as in a fleur-de-lis style pattern around barrel tang. Very good condition as restored and refinished. Barrel and lock have been heavily cleaned and refinished. Lock composed of mainly contemporary parts. Brass retains a mellow patina with some areas polished and side plate has been replaced. Stock very good as refinished, showing some scattered marks from use and small loss below tail of lock. This pistol is most likely a composite piece with a mixture of contemporary and original parts.
