Octagonal rifled barrel centered rear sight surrounded by two lines both in front of and behind. Flat flintlock lockplate marked "TRYON/WARRANTED" in center and surrounded by sprigs of engraving. Brass furniture; side opening patchbox engraved with ornate Shuler-style '"propeller" and decorated with a broken line border. Sideplate with beveled edges and "horns" surrounding rear lock screw; engraved brass pick holder beneath cheekpiece, toeplate with five rectangular cutouts with ferns carved in exposed wood in each panel, engraved around screws and with broken-line borders. Ramrod entry ferrule with integral fleur-de-lis wear plate engraved with two bird's heads, masonic emblem followed by a silver inlay with a patriotic splayed eagle with shield and arrows engraved in the center. Engraved and shaded silver eight pint Moravian star inlaid above cheekpiece and silver vacant oval wrist escutcheon with broken-line border. Figured full-length maple stock of delicate Bucks County, Pennsylvania form and extensively and delicately carved with incised scrolls on both sides of wrist and behind cheekpiece on left side. Decorated with detailed and stylized fleur-de-lis around barrel tang, behind lock and sideplate, around comb, and in front of trigger guard tang. Repeating vine and leaf pattern carved around patchbox, terminating in a circular scroll on each side. Curled Bucks County trigger. Barrel retains an even brown patina with light scattered marks from use. Lock has an even brown patina and has been professionally converted back to flintlock configuration. Brass retains a mellow patina, dark in some areas. Carving excellent. Stock has been refinished and fore-end has been replaced forward of ramrod entry thimble; ramrod replaced.
