Manufactured 1863 to 1875. The state of New Jersey purchased 1,000 of these revolvers under contract. Stamped "N.J." on left side of barrel. Gun features full blued finish with brass trigger guard, two piece walnut grips, six shot, single action, non-fluted cylinder. Barrel has Remington address on top. Numerous military inspector stamps on metal. Brass has not been cleaned. Walnut grips are very good. Some chips out of left side. No visible cartouche. Barrel retains approximately 60% original blue with most loss on right side. Loading lever retains 85% blue. Cylinder retains approximately 75% blue. Frame retains approximately 15% blue, balance simply plum. Indexes fine with a strong near mint bore. Very fine condition, all original, scarce militia issued Civil War period revolver.
