Manufactured 1863 to 1865. This example bears government inspector marks, part of 25,000 purchased during war under federal contract. It is a six shot, single action. Missing the head of the takedown screw. All metal is grey patina. One piece walnut grips are excellent with visible but not readable cartouche on left panel. Indexes and locks up tight. Strong, clean rifled bore. This was a very popular during the Civil War due to its ease of takedown and reliability.
