Manufactured 1937. Offered is a rare full King accurized pre-war National Match. Features the King micrometer click rear sight, custom high front sight, wide hand checkered King trigger, King recoil buffer and super grouper, and custom arched mainspring housing with six serrations and border. This is not the hump version, rather it has been taken down and hand serrated for a slimmer grip. Has an O match Colt .45 barrel with "MB" circle stamp. The cost for converted Colt from King in 1940 was $70, almost twice the price of a standard National Match. It was period professional full nickel plated, the quality of work either King or a return to the Colt factory with sharp lines and razor sharp legends. Now sports a pair of pearlite grips. Rear sight has the King patent stamp. Fine bore and action. An extremely handsome, probably one of a kind nickel plated King converted Colt Model 1911-A1 that retains approximately 98% of the nickel finish.
