This high quality English pre-turn of the century revolver is stamped "W. TRANTER" on left side of frame. Features almost complete coverage engraving, basic scroll with punch dot background. Masterfully executed. Numerous British proofs. Has an engraved metal buttplate. The ivory or bone grips are checkered and have shrunk a bit. Small chip on right panel. Metal is basically gun metal grey. Hammer works but cylinder fails to index. Needs some mechanical attention. Strong, rifled bore. Engraving is sharp with no pitting. This would be a great gun for a full restoration, or at the very least repair the ivory grips.
