Probably circa 1840, measures about 15" in height. Wood construction with skin heads. Wood bands around top and bottom feature red white and blue stripes. Body of drum features a patriotic Federal eagle with shield clutching arrows in one talon and an olive branch in the other against a red background. Wrapped with remnants of rope and leather. Right side has an old museum tag stating this drum was from Myerstown, Pennsylvania from G. Earl Dougherty. Drum is in fair condition with a nice, crazed surface with some minor staining and losses to paint on wings of eagle. Both heads are torn and need replaced and drum needs re-roped.
