Cased reproduction of the "Pitcairn Pistol," the gun that is attributed firing the "shot heard round the world!" All steel and silver Scottish Murdoch ram's horn butt flintlock pistol copied from the one used by British Major Pitcairn whom historians believe fired the first shot of the American Revolutionary War from the Green at Lexington. Floral scroll engraved barrel with fluted breech. Scroll-engraved stock and grip with ball trigger. Belt hook. Left side of grip features a silver oval escutcheon inscribed "Lexington/April 12, 1775". Right side with silver escutcheon with Pitcairn crest. Complete with blue velour-lined walnut display case with leather plaque on lid, which reads "THE/PITCAIRN PISTOL". Limited edition of 900 were made by the Whitney Armory Museum and the US Historical Society. Excellent condition with a few light marks and one dark spot on left side of steel stock. Case excellent.
