This well-made rifle was built by Dennis L. Griffith of Robesonia, Berks County, Pennsylvania. This rifle won second place in 2017 at Dixon's Gun Fair in Kempton, Pennsylvania. The rifle features a brown octagonal rifled barrel with solid rib mounted below, silver front blade sight and notched rear sight. Barrel features a gold band at the breech and is signed on the top flat "D / G". It is a Douglas barrel. William Robins percussion lock is polished bright. The rifle features a detailed, curled trigger and has brass furniture including a Berks County trigger guard. Oil finished cherry half stock of familiar Berks County form inlaid with a silver Moravian star on the left side above the carved cheek piece, the center has a diamond shaped piece of ivory inlaid into it. The rifle is in as new condition. It is easy to see why this rifle was an award-winning piece with all of the wood proud to metal and great care taken to fit and finish alike throughout. Half stock rifles of this quality are seldom seen. This would make a great small game hunting black powder rifle.
