This National Match Model 1903 comes with all the original paperwork: five documents dated 1937 including the Star Gauge record by serial number (No. 1479256). It appears as if the rifle was originally an RIA serial No. 20995 that was received by the factory in 1937 where they replaced the receiver serial No. 1479256, assembly, National Match, with bolt stop per DCM order from Mr. H.E. Wright of Little Rock, Arkansas with a National Match barrel, National Match hand guard; and where they also disassembled and adjusted head space. Complete cost to convert was $15.24. All documents are framed. Barrel is stamped "SA (bomb) 5-36". Receiver number places manufactured in 1934. Has a Star Gauge barrel, polished rail, nickel silver bolt, matching serial number etched on polished bolt, Type C pistol grip stock with block "P" cartouche in circle. Left side of stock has "SA / SPG" cartouche in box used 1938 to 1940. The shipping ticket is dated November 11th, 1937, so it is obvious stock was manufactured at the tail-end of 1937. Comes with a set of P.J. O-Hare front and rear sight protectors. Has the sight groove hand guard, two bolt no groove stock, all milled parts, and finely checkered trapdoor buttplate. Rifle retains nearly all of the dull blue-black arsenal finish. Walnut stocks are excellent. Fine bore and action. A lovely, excellent to near mint National Match rifle with complete documentation detailing all aspects of this rifle.
