Manufactured 1950. Bolt has matching number. Features blued finish, hooded ramp front sight, rear barrel collar blank, matte blue finish on frame, low straight comb pistol grip checkered walnut stock, checkered steel buttplate, sling swivels and sports a Millett mounts and rings (no scope). Barrel retains 97% original factory blue with some minor muzzle wear. Frame has 98% original blue. Stock is excellent with sharp checkering with usual minor abrasions. 95% original blue on floorplate and trigger guard. Fine bore and action. Buttplate has 50% original blue. The .300 H&H was one of the most powerful cartridges offered in the Model 70 until the advent of the .300 Winchester Magnum. The .300 H&H was offered from 1937 until 1963 accounted for a mere 6.4% of all production.
