Offered is an extremely fine condition .50-70 U.S. rolling block saddle ring carbine. Barrel retains approximately 70% original high polish factory blue mixing with soft patina. Has the two leaf folding military sight with "R" inspector stamp on left side. Military post front sight. Case colored frame retains approximately 40% original colors, some bright. Single barrel band with "V" inspector mark. Walnut stock and forend. Left side of stock has a near mint "HBH" inspector stamp in ribbon for Henry B. Hart, who inspected the Remington New York State Model 1871 Rolling Block carbine. Hart inspected a number of New York State militia carbines during the mid-1870's. Left side of stock with the unit or rack No. A37. Perfect address on tang. Has the shield style checkering on hammer. Near mint mirror bore. This little carbine has seen little to no use. These high condition .50 caliber carbines are extremely scarce and highly desirable. Seldom seen this nice.
