This exact case and color combination is listed as the first style contour cased 1848 Baby Dragoon 4 - 1/2" barrel pictured on page 210 in the book "Colt Accoutrements 1834-1911" by R. Rapley. These cases are extremely scarce. It is basically a plain walnut box with brown felt lining. There are no dividers, rather the bottom of the case is inlet for the gun and accessories. The felt is very nice and shows some wear. Walnut box has a repaired crack on top and is missing the lid latch. Comes with a brass Colt's patent two cavity .31 caliber mold, Winchester cap tin, and a Colt 1849 Pocket Model flask, Model F24 on page 85. This is an early bullet mold with no sprue cutter and is either an M16 or M17 made for the 1848 Baby Dragoon as seen on page 122. If you have a beautiful, high condition, or special Baby Dragoon, you will find that the case is harder to find than the gun.
