Block is stamped "MODEL 1884". Sideplate is stamped "(eagle) U.S. SPRINGFIELD.". Has an 1884 rear sight, twin barrel bands, checkered trigger. Walnut stock has a "S.W.P. 1886" cartouche (Sam Porter). Colors have turned grey. Barrel is a clean, grey patina. "VP" proof on barrel. Stock is excellent with usual dings. Fine action. Strong, clean, near mint bore. A very clean 1884 Trapdoor.
