Factory letter states Serial No. 340555 was sent as a blue .45 caliber single action to S.D. & G. New York on October 29th, 1920. The letter lists this barrel as 4 - 3/4" but it is clearly a period correct 7 - 1/2". Colt remains in fine condition; barrel and ejector rod housing retain approximately 95% original factory blue thinning at barrel an sides of muzzle. Cylinder retains approximately 85-90% original factory blue with the brown serrations around circumference of cylinder. Fire blue screw heads are all fairly concentric. Trigger guard has some thinning on inner grip strap and outer backstrap. 85% original case colors, some brilliant. Nice colors on hammer. The gutta percha grips fit correctly; left grip panel is numbered to gun. Mint bore and fine action. A fine condition pre-World War II Single action Army.
