This high quality saddle leather scabbard was manufactured in Brownsville, Texas by W.H. Clay. It is double maker stamped in oval. Back has a ranch brand. All stitching is intact. Minor age checking. Straps are complete. This is the highest quality scabbard we have seen; the thickness of leather and stitching is of the best grade and rivals any saddle made during that era. This scabbard would hold any 20" barrel carbine of the era: Winchester, Marlin, Savage etc. Maker marked Texas products from this period are most highly coveted.
