This deluxe rifle left the factory on October 22nd, 1890, and according to letter Serial No. 40549 was shipped with a No. 1 24" half octagon barrel in caliber .22 WCF with a plain trigger, checkered pistol grip stock, mid-range and wind-gauge sights and remains in that configuration today. the barrel retains approximately 80% original factory blue, just starting to blend with soft patina leeching through blue surface. Case colored frame retains approximately 75% on the left side, 20% on right side, and 100% in the area behind hammer. Colors have patterned out on buttplate. Some bright colors on back of hammer. Lever has patterned out. Checkered pistol grip stock is near mint with factory high finish and beautiful grain. Target sights are present as listed with semi-buckhorn rear sight. Fine action and strong, clean bore. A very hard to find caliber in a case colored right of this era. A beautiful example with stunning wood.
