Features full length walnut stock, carbine butt, two barrel bands, 1884 rear sight, metal cleaning rod. Barrel has eagle "VP" proof on left side. Block is stamped "US MODEL 1878". Sideplate is stamped "US SPRINGFIELD" with eagle. Buttplate is stamped "US". Left side of stock has a near perfect "S.W.P. 1880" cartouche (Sam Porter). Serif "P" in circle at base. Barrel and frame are basically soft grey patina with traces of color on block. Sideplate retains approximately 35% blue. Hammer retains 50% blue. Buttplate is grey. Wood is excellent with usual minor bumps. Fine action and a strong, rifled bore with minor abrasion.
