Referred to as the Whitney-Kennedy lever action repeater, manufactured 1878 to 1886. This is listed as the larger heavy frame for the big calibers. A major competitor to Winchester at the time. Features the S lever, full octagon barrel, full magazine, sporting sights, walnut stocks and rifle butt. Barrel is marked "WHITENEYVILLE ARMORY CT USA". This is a standard rifle in all respects, all metal is a smooth, clean homogeneous light brown patina with flashes of blue on frame and 80% blue on loading gate. Stocks are excellent with a crack measuring 3" from butt and 1 - 1/2" from toe that could easily be professionally repaired. Fine working order with a strong, clean, rifled bore. These large frame models are extremely difficult to locate, especially in such fine condition.
