Referred to as the Whitney-Kennedy lever action repeater, manufactured 1878 to 1886. This is listed as the larger heavy frame for the big calibers. A major competitor to Winchester at the time. Features the S lever, full round barrel, full magazine, two barrel bands, dovetail front sight, folding leaf rear sight, saddle ring and stud, and walnut stocks with rifle butt. Barrel is marked "WHITNEYVILLE ARMORY CT USA". This is a standard carbine in all respects, all metal is a smooth, clean homogeneous grey patina with 30% blue on loading gate. Stocks are excellent with usual dings. Fine working order with a strong, clean, rifled bore. The large frame carbines are the hardest to find of all Whitney-Kennedy lever action rifles.
