Barrel is dated 4-18 with Winchester "W" and Ordnance bomb. These true unadulterated all Winchester World War I survivors with original blued finish are getting extremely difficult to locate, as most were refurbished during the second World War. This is a perfect example of an all original Winchester attic find World War I survivor. Features Winchester marked stock, front sight, rear sight, frame and bolt. Traces of original blue on frame with generous blue on bridge. Balance of gun is simply a grey patina. Walnut stock is very good with usual wear. Fine action. Bore exhibits strong rifling. Has a later period canvas sling.
