Manufactured 1910. Amongst the most desirable of Savage lever action rifles are those examples sporting the full octagon tapered barrels. They are some of the most elegant looking lever guns ever manufactured. This example is all original and retains lots of original condition. Barrel retains approximately 85% of the original rich factory blue finish, thinning only at breech with razor sharp legends and edges. Top of the frame retains 80% original high polish factory blue, blending with some smooth patina. Left and right side of the frame retains approximately 50-60% of the original bright blue, also blending to patina with no damage, simply pure aging. Bottom of frame is a blue-brown patina fro carry. Case colors on lever have patterned out. Walnut stocks are excellent, proud to metal with none of the usual hairline cracks at wrist. Sights include knifeblade front, sporting rear and Lyman tang. Fine bore and action. Far above average octagon barrel Savage Model 1899 rifle.
