19th century, the first with a cast base band of cherubs and dolphins collecting rushes over an oak body with a hinged lid with a cast cherub riding a dolphin, with a clean ceramic interior, marked "H.B 2939" under base; the second, Homan Silver Plate Co. with straight sides with stylized floral flat-chasing between chased borders of exotic birds in landscapes, a domed lid with a cast bud finial, and a plain foot. Wear to plating of both. Height of first: 15"; second: 13". From the Ray Bentley Collection.
