London 1828 by Emes & Barnard, of campana form the center section engraved as prize from the Ladies of Southampton for a Yacht of any tonnage in the regatta of 1828, the other side with the winner, Menai Cutter, property of T. Assheton Smith Esq., all between cast and heavily chased bands of flowers and scrolls, the domed lid with a cast figure of a sailor next to an anchor. Fully marked; full maker's mark under base of cast figure. There is a lot sticker from Christies, dated 3-12-88, lot 244. Height: 16". Weight approx. 78.7 ozt. From the Ray Bentley Collection.
