This spectacular figural tureen features cast and chiseled steers on both ends, to be used as handles, that measure 3-1/2" across and 2-3/4" down. The tureen was cast with repousse floral decoration and stippled accents. The hallmarked base measures 6-1/2" long, height is 5-1/2", one side is engraved "Thorley's Special Prize" and the other side is engraved "Presented to/William "Buffalo Bill" Cody/By the/Wyoming Cattleman's Association." The tureen is in excellent condition with some minor wear, no visible dents or repairs. From the Ray Bentley Collection.
