Manufactured 1943. Offered in its original manila Government craft box with matching number in pencil on top and original packing tape; this gun remains as new with dried original cosmoline, green wax paper and two extra wax paper wrapped magazines. Retains virtually all of its arsenal applied military finish. Left side of frame stamped "P" and "FJA" for Frank J. Atwood. Right side of frame stamped "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" and "M 1911 A1 U.S. ARMY". Has Ordnance wheel stamped on right rear of frame. Slide is stamped "REMINGTON RAND INC. SYRACUSE N.Y. U.S.A." on left side with "P" stamped on top. Features short checkered trigger, spurless checkered hammer, checkered safety, serrated slide stop and arched mainspring housing with lanyard, and Keyes star stamped brown plastic grips. Blued barrel is stamped "H S" on right lug and "P" on left lug, retaining 99% original blue with near mint bore. Full blued magazine with five view hole and pinned base, stamped "R" for Risdon Manufacture.
