Manufactured for use by the military 1918 to 1920. Chambered for the .45 ACP cartridge and meant to be used with half moon clips. Cylinder remains unaltered. Features include six shot and double action. Left side of frame has the "JMG" inspector mark for John M. Gilbert. Comes with smooth walnut grips and lanyard ring. Bottom of barrel is stamped "UNITED STATES PROPERTY". Bottom of butt is stamped "US ARMY MODEL 1917" with army number "36591". Missing ejector rod head. Gun has been completely arsenal parkerized finished leaving barrel address weak. These were rebuilt by the government for use in World War II. Fine barrel and locks up tight as new.
