Manufactured between 1847-1850. Type II The Texas Ranger Indian scene on cylinder is no longer visible. The serial number is stamped on barrel, cylinder, wedge, frame, trigger guard and back strap. Five shot, single action, cylinder has oval stops, and original nipples. Safety pin is gone. Octagon barrel has New York City address. Left side of frame stamped "COLTS PATENT". Brass trigger guard with square guard. Brass back strap with traces of plating. All legends are sharp. No original finish, basically a brown patina. Very good walnut grips, chip at left toe. Indexes and locks up correctly. Strong rifled bore with light abrasions. This rare revolver has very homogeneous eye appeal. Untouched, all original and matching revolver.
