Swivel breech action with twist barrels having manual extractors on the side of the breech. Full length twist top rib with steel front bead. Top rib marked "F.E. BOYD & P.S. TYLER" and patent info. Back action locks which are unengraved. Action is opened by pushing thumb push opener on top tang. Straight grain walnut buttstock which is checkered in two point pattern with mullered borders has a full steel buttplate. The splinter forearm is checkered in a three point pattern. Length of pull is 14" over the smooth steel buttplate. Overall very good condition. Barrels retain about 90% twist pattern. Forearm with finish added and a minor repair at the knuckle. Action retains traces of original color and has turned a pleasing aged grey. Buttstock is mostly sound with original finish and has had some finish added for preservation. These are rare guns and a must have for the collector of early American Breechloaders.
