"SHOT ONLY" marked barrel with bead front sight, matted receiver with offset proof, and proper gallery pattern magazine tube. Muzzle measures .400 internally. Appropriately 75 of these rare smooth bores where produced. Two piece walnut stocks with 17 groove forearm and checkered steel buttplate. Pre-war soft blue finish on receiver and barrel. The Winchester Model 61 smoothbore has become one of the most sought after and avidly collected firearms in recent history. These elegant rifle and smoothbore pumps where offered in a variety of calibers and configurations. The Routledge Smoothbore is truly the rarest and most sought after. Overall very fine as rifle retains over 98% factory blue finish with only wear evident on operating arm and side of barrel from being operated as well as magazine tube. Stocks are equally fine with just a touch of finish wear at the edges of the pistol grip. The "Routledge" smoothbore is by far the rarest of all Winchester pumps. This is the finest example we have seen and wold be almost impossible to improve upon.
