Manufactured for the United States Army on the New Service frame and made to fire the same ammunition as the Colt Model 1911 with use of half moon clips. It is a six shot, double action with blued finish, smooth walnut grips and lanyard ring. The bottom of the barrel is stamped "UNITED STATES PROPERTY". Barrel and yoke and stamped "5045". Butt is stamped "U.S. ARMY / MODEL 1917 / 105 / 190". Revolver retains approximately 85% of the reapplied blue finish. Indexes and locks up correctly with a fine, clean bore.
