Manufactured 1919. The frame of this Model 1911 was made by Remington UMC under contract to Colt in 1919. Left side of frame is stamped "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" and has the "EEC" with eagle head cartouche for Edmund Chapman. The slide is a Colt post-serial number 290000 (1918) slide. The barrel is a replacement, blued, with "P" on left lug and a strong bore. Magazine is a tempered pinned base with no lanyard. All proper era World War I parts to include long trigger, short checkered wide spur hammer, checkered slide stop and safety, flat mainspring housing with loop and diamond walnut checkered grips with usual dings. Retains approximately 60% of military matte finish. Excellent markings. Typical rebuild. Could also be used to separate and build two pistols with correct parts.
