Features military blade front sight and staff adjustable rear sight with graduations to 3200 yards; three piece American walnut stocks with forward retaining band and hand guard. Butt is a tradition musket/carbine butt with provision for cleaning rods in trap. Saddle ring configuration with ring still present. The 1895 carbines where used extensively by railroad security forces and during periods of unrest in the mining communities. Several foreign contracts were granted to Winchester for the 1895 musket and carbines during the early teens and finding fine examples is not an easy task. This carbine has a very fine bore and the walnut stocks are very fine as well with evidence of having been refinished at some much earlier period. The factory blue finish is very good on the barrel with over 85% remaining with losses at muzzle and around front sight. The receiver has turned mostly silver with blue finish remaining in only the more protected areas. The magazine retains over 75% factory blue finish with bottom or the balance point having been worn bright.
