Features half round-half octagon barrel with sporting blade front sight, elevator adjustable rear sight with knurled edges, half magazine, case colored receiver, and crescent butt. This fine 1886 is chambered for the .45-70 Gov't cartridge. Special order barrel configuration and half magazine make this a really great rifle. Very fine condition with well over 95% factory blue finish remaining on barrel and magazine. Case colored receiver has a large quantity of faded case colors remaining with balance point and high points of receiver having silvered. Slight moisture spotting is evident on left side of receiver but is not detrimental. Hammer and lever both retain generous amounts of faded case colors. Two piece walnut stocks are excellent with slight darkening at wrist from period use. Forearm has traces of additional contemporary finish but no expedience of refinish. This is a dandy 1886 with a stellar condition bore and crisp mechanics. CORRECTION: Factory research states Model 1886 serial No. 103605 was shipped July 24th, 1895 with full octagon barrel in .40-82 caliber; half magazine and barrel were changed at factory to current configuration.
