This early Model 1876 features full octagon, full magazine, blue finish overall, case colored hammer and lever, sporting front sight, 1876 marked ladder rear sight Second Model variation with dustcover guide attached by two screws, traditional two piece varnished walnut stocks, crescent buttplate. Most all of the contemporary blue finish remains on barrel and magazine. Receiver has a blend of 30% factory blue fading to patina with stronger finish in protected areas. Stocks are very good with most all varnish remaining but slightly oil darkened at wrist and bottom of forearms. Bore is moderately good with strong rifling however slightly dark in grooves. These early 1876 rifles are difficult to find in fine condition as they where used extensively for big game hunting in the American West. This is a far better than average example.
