Features tapered round barrel, sporting Lyman bead front sight, traditional elevator adjustable rear sight, takedown with half magazine configuration and two piece American walnut stocks with shotgun pattern butt. The Model 53 was an improved variation and continuation of the Model 1892. This unique series of rifles evolved through a number of configuration and markings in their short period of manufacture from 1924 through 1941. Good overall condition as being completely refinished at a much earlier time. The two piece American Walnut stocks are fine with evidence of a hole having been plugged professionally at toe area of butt. Finishes are very good and could easily pass as factory. Barrel, magazine and receiver all have a contemporary blue-brown finish with receiver thinning at balance. Bore is bright with sharp rifling and a very minute bulge 1" from muzzle.
