Department of Public Safety Number is 28360. This rifle features the full wood stock, the black ventilated hand guard, stainless steel frame and barrel, extended magazine, blue carbine buttplate. Barrel is 18-1/2". CONDITION: Excellent. Stock shows usual bumps and bruises from service. Fine bore and action. Comes with a nylon sling. Most important feature of this rifle is that it comes with the Texas Rangers property inventory card and official letter signed by Sergeant William A. Tony (Benny). The letter states to whit "I was promoted into the Texas Rangers in October of 1995. My first duty station was in Hunt County. In 1996 I transferred home to Sherman. This Ruger Mini-14, serial number 183-97391, DPS 28360, was issued to me upon my promotion into the Texas Ranger division. The same rifle had been carried by Ranger Don Anderson till his retirement in 1995. I replaced this rifle with a Bushmaster M4 in 2006."
