Features octagon barrel with full magazine, blue and case colored finishes, two piece walnut stocks and crescent butt. Chambered for the 38-55 Winchester cartridge and equipped with additional .32 Winchester Special 26" octagon barrel with half magazine. This delightful takedown rifle is documented with a letter from the Buffalo Bill Historical Center dated July 2015 as: rifle, .38/55, octagon, plain trigger, take down, received in warehouse 1902 and returned and repaired April 1903. We gather the .32 Special barrel was fitted at this time. Blue finish is very fine with over 95% remaining on both barrels and magazines. Receiver has over 80% blue finish remaining with most finish loss at balance point of lower section of receiver and bottom of barrel lug. Stocks are fine overall with much factory finish remaining however typical finish loss at wrist and hand held area of forearm. Case colors are very faded but are evident in protected areas. Both barrels have very fine bores with sharp strong rifling. Mechanics are crisp and functional. Being well over 100 years old this is an outstanding 1894 rifle with documentation and the most desirable caliber.
