This lever action shotgun features blue and case color finishes, walnut stocks and unique two piece forearm. Made for the use of black powder shot-shells. The 1887 was the first successful lever action shotgun and was a brought Winchester into the shotgun market. Designed by John browning for Winchester the magazine capacity was four rounds not including the chamber. This variation has a rolled steel barrel and the Winchester "WRA" in script on left side of receiver. Vary few options where available for the 87 as the design did not lend itself to modification other than finishes, wood and barrel length. Good condition overall with no factory finish remaining. Stocks are solid with little distress and no material loss. Mechanics are in proper functioning order. Fewer than 65,000 of these guns where produced with a relatively low survival rate. Very few are ever encountered in fine condition.
