Features full octagon barrel with sporting blade front sight, traditional two line Hartford address, bright polish Colt blue finish barrel, receiver and magazine; case colored hammer, Nitre blue trigger, and two piece American walnut stocks with Colt hard rubber buttplate. Rear sight slot is filled with a period slot blank to accommodate the folding Lyman tang sight mounted on rear. Chamber marked "22 CAL". The Colt Lightning pump rifle was a great success for Colt but short lived; with the cost of manufacturing these best quality guns they quickly bypassed in sales by Winchester and others. Fine condition overall. Over 85% factory blue finish remains on barrel with nearly 90% on receiver. The two piece wood stocks have some bruising and finish loss from use but remain quite good. The Colt hard rubber buttplate is complete and in good condition. The bore has visible rifling but dark grooves as is common in these rifles. Action functions properly.
