Of the great Colt collectors rarities is the Colt Lightning Musket. Less than 300 were ever produced and most went to Costa Rica for a military contract. Fitted with a round barrel with lug for sabre bayonet, fixed front, reversed ladder adjustable rear sight graduated to 900 yards, sling swivels, standard two piece walnut stocks and a military pattern steel buttplate. Standard two line commercial Colt Hartford address on top of barrel. Factory fitted sling swivels. Condition NRA Good; metal surfaces have turned bright with no finish remaining. Stocks are complete with several small slivers of loss at tang and forearm. A coat of contemporary varnish has been applied to the wood. Action functions correctly. Bore is very good being bright with several very small spots of corrosion in grooves.
