Gun retains a fair amount of mottled finish mixed with a pleasing patina and some very light surface rust. All markings are clear. Proper "JFC" cartouche on the left side of stock. Proper turned down muzzle to accept the 1905 bayonet. Stock was arsenal shortened for use with the 1899 carbine length barrel. Original "C" marked 1901 pattern rear sight. Stock is worn with dings and handling marks. Fine mechanical function. Bore is very good with strong rifling. 1917 dated USGI leather sling is worn.
