Features early high polish blue finish, left side of frame stamped "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" with "WGP" for Walter G. Penfield, early slide with 1911 patent date and pony in circle at left rear. Right side of slide stamped "MODEL 1911 US ARMY". Blued barrel is a replacement with no chamber stamp. Has a two tone, tempered, five view, pinned magazine with high polish base. Checkered slide stop and safety, long smooth trigger, checkered wide spur hammer, flat mainspring with lanyard, early Type I rounded rear sight and small front blade. Backstrap and grip safety are blue-grey patina. 90% blue on front grip strap. 97% blue on balance of frame. Slide has high edge and muzzle wear with scattered storage marks. Fully retains 95% of the high polish factory blue finish. Near mint bore and fine action. This is a high quality, early blued, first year production U.S. Army.
