Offered is a standard 1917 manufactured Commercial with the exception that the name "H.D. BASSETT" was stamped on right side of frame, professionally done, in a semi-circular inscription that follows the contour of the trigger guard cut-out. All other parts are correct for this era to include flat mainspring housing with lanyard, checkered slide stop and safety, checkered wide spur hammer and diamond checkered walnut grips. The blued barrel is stamped "CP" at base (replacement). Features blued finish, tempered blued magazine with pinned base. Slide retains approximately 80% original blue with just some light patina showing through and high edge wear. Grips are excellent. Rear straps have toned and dulled to a homogenous blue-brown patina. Front grip strap retains 75% original blue with some light toning. Balance of frame retains approximately 90% original blue with light takedown line. Lovely, all original 1911 Commercial that with some investigation into the inscription might add some colorful history.
